JEE Main Colleges Overview

JEE Main is a national level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to engineering colleges in India. The exam is considered one of the toughest exams in the country and is a gateway for admission to the top engineering colleges in India. JEE Main scores are accepted by 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), 25 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), 28 Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs), and several other engineering colleges across the country.

NITs via JEE Main

The NITs are considered to be among the best engineering colleges in India. These colleges offer a range of courses in engineering and technology, including computer science, mechanical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, and civil engineering.

IIITs via JEE Main

GFTIs via JEE Main

GFTIs are government-funded technical institutes that offer undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering and technology. These colleges have a reputation for providing quality education at an affordable cost. Some of the top GFTIs include Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Delhi College of Engineering (DCE), and Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) Bhopal.

Private and State Colleges via JEE Main

In addition to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, there are several other engineering colleges that accept JEE Main scores. These colleges include private engineering colleges, state-level engineering colleges, and universities that offer engineering courses. Some of the top private engineering colleges include Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), and Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT).

To get admitted to a JEE Main college, students must score high marks in the JEE Main exam. The exam consists of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for admission to B.E./B.Tech. courses, while Paper 2 is for admission to B.Arch./B.Planning courses.
