Five mistakes to avoid while
preparing for JEE

Your JEE dream often remains a dream because of few critical mistakes. Avoid them and you can give your best shot at the examination.

 1 . Quitting the preparation

Many students end up quitting months before the actual examination. This might be due to several factors but often setting lofty standards at the initial stages of the preparation attributes to this. Students begin with the belief that they will study for 10+ hours everyday with the same intensity which is not feasible. There are ought to be ups and downs during your preparation but do not end up quitting altogether. Even if you study for 3 hours properly for the entire duration of 2 years you can do wonders. Being consistent has no limits and it can be scaled to theoretically infinite amounts of time.

 2. Endless distractions
With so many social media applications out there, students often end up spending a huge chunk of time online than necessary. It is perfectly fine if you miss that brilliant article or the latest online trend. Keep your academics as the main priority and set your workflow according to it. You can watch some content related to examination strategy but also for it, make sure you do not end up in the endless ocean of recommendations.

3. Collecting books, material without using them
Your goal is to crack the entrance examinations and not be the top collector of every good book or coaching material out there. The material for preparation does not vary much in the standard books, so sticking to one set is sufficient. If you are enrolled in any coaching center, it would be best to prepare from the material provided to you and finish it with utmost sincerity. Check out this list for the most comprehensive set of books needed for self study.

4. Not taking care of your health
Do not neglect your health especially in the last months before the examination. You need all the mental boost and conditioning in this stretch of time, so your mental and physical health must be in top condition in addition to your preparation. If your health goes down, the preparation takes a step back and some time is lost in recuperation. Maintain a healthy diet, be hygienic, do some casual exercises and ensure that you sleep for an adequate amount of time. Check out this article on some essential points to boost productivity

5. Neglecting NCERT
At some point of your preparation, make it a point to cover NCERT. Concepts in NCERT are established from the scratch essentially preparing you for JEE Advanced, where direct formula application is not helpful. NCERT also helps for the preparation of Board examinations and JEE Main, especially for Chemistry
